Stay Free by the Clash always got me. It’s such a damn good song about hoping your friend that you’ve drifted away from stays out of jail now that he’s out.

Jan 01,  · A year ago, Wet Clay Records sent me their sampler CD. This small Irish label, I found, was creating some intensely interesting independent English Rock. From the releases, Woodstar rose most prominently in the UK with Life Sparks.

5 The Unforgiven - Metallica. This is my favorite Metallica song and by far a very sad and depressing song. I personally think "fade to black" was sadder. This song has very sad climate, but also tells a sad, but beautiful and painful story about growing up and getting older .

Without you, I'm just a sad song Without you, I feel broken Like I'm half of a whole Without you, I've got no hand to hold Without you, I feel torn Like a sail in a storm Without you, I'm just a sad song.

Our Lady Peace revealed that the song was written about Mina Kim, a young girl with a cancerous brain tumor. The "thief" in the song is in reference to the tumor. Moment you'll tear up: I don't want to understand this horrorThere's a weight in your eyesI can't admitEverybody ends up here in bottlesBut the name tag's the last thing you wanted.

The beautiful music and tear-jerker lyrics of "Tears in Heaven" are heightened by the sad story behind this depressing rock song. Written in late , the song is about the terrible pain Eric Clapton felt on arriving at a friend’s apartment building earlier that year to discover that his 4-year-old son had just fallen from the balcony and died.

Description: I have a very personal connection to this song, you could say it was therapy for me and helped me get through a tragic time. I never intended to release it but finished it up and it is the opening track on my 4th instalment of the "Cinematic Essentials" collections.
